Increase the peace! The PXC 250 features a noise reduction unit
that cancels out background noise.

When engaged, NoiseGard active noise reduction drops steady-state low-frequency noise (from about 500 Hz and below) by 15 dB--which the human ear perceives as more than halving the noise--thus enhancing the clarity of your music. The noise reduction circuit requires 2 AAA batteries (not included), but the headphones work fine without the circuit engaged.

Sennheiser's fold and flip design lets you turn the ear pieces 90 degrees and fold the headphones closed. Their ported design lets them move more air for greater bass response.

Summary: A must have for long flights!!
Comment: I bought a set of these recently and could not have been more impressed with them! They are fantastic. They were incredibly comfortable (and my head is not a small one-ha!)and really reduced the amount of stress I normally feel when flying due to the noise of the plane itself as well as the noise of people (usually kids) around me. The noise canceling feature works amazingly well. I used them with my personal player (for music) and with the onboard system when watching a movie. They worked well in both cases. They are a great quality for the price.

Comment: I have owned Bose Brookstone and various other head phones. The Sennheiser for the price far outperform any I have owned. They are the most comfortable head set I have ever owned and the sound quality is superb.

Comment: These sennheisers (PXC 250) are really nice! They are better quality than I expected! I moved from a private office at work (where I could shut my door for peace and quiet) to a large space with other co-workers nearby. I have trouble blocking ambient conversations and noises so I got these puppies to help my concentration. Wow! They are the best. I can use them w/o my ipod for the quiet I need sometimes or with my ipod and the music I like to work by (fast).. Lots of options. Amazon had the best price and I got in on the rebate with Sennheiser for $25 back.

Summary: Excellent sound, good value for the money can be improved
Comment: This is the second pair I have owned. The sound canceling/quality ratio is very good. The headphones are lightweight and easy on your ears. While they do not provide the same level of sound suppression as heavier headphones, they achieve an amazing level of noise cancelation while preserving very good audio quality. Improvements could be made in the battery holder which can be cumbersome as well as in the folding for storage process which is not intuitive.

Summary: Liked it so much I bought one for myself and my dad
Comment: Bought this for my dad last Christmas. Liked it so much I bought another one before my trip to Prague this past spring. Works great for the airplane. You can definitely hear the difference. I might get another for my fiancee (she kept stealing it from me on the airplane) so that we could both enjoy the decreased noise. Compared to the Bose Quiet Comfort (I bought one for my dad a couple years back) I think it's at least as good for a lot less. The bag that it comes with is a plus as it takes very little space and also holds my iPod and extra batteries. Would recommend this to anyone. Sennheiser quality is very good as always. Although I am by no means an expert, I have several decent headphones (2 Sennheisers and 1 Grado) so I feel I can tell the different between a cheap $20 headphone from Walmart and a good high quality one.
